Hand - Crafted and Hand - Poured in Madison County, North Carolina
As a disabled single mother of neurodivergent sons, every dollar counts. I was tired of wasting hard-earned money on commercially made candles that burn fast and lose their scent throw even faster. I wanted to fill my home with a powerful, rich fragrance that actually lasts, so I decided to make them myself—the right way.
I was raised by a Mamaw who passed down a heritage of fierce, independent, mountain resilience rooted in the rugged peaks of Big Laurel down into the holler of Rice Cove. She didn't teach me how to make candles, but she definitely taught me how to provide for myself and make the most out of my dollar. That's why when you buy a candle poured into a teacup or jar, the vessel itself is reusable long after the candle is gone. To me, candle making isn’t just a business; it’s a reflection of that grit and a tribute to my Rice family.
By refusing corporate shortcuts, I create candles that burn cleanly, hold their fragrance, and outlast any store-bought brand. This craft is our anchor, allowing me to build a future for my family from home, on our own terms, without compromising on standard or soul. When you light a Rice Cove candle, you are bringing true Appalachian strength, tradition, and unfiltered quality into your space.
Thank you for supporting an independent family venture.
Each Rice Cove candle is poured into a vintage teacup or jar that is entirely reusable. Long after the premium wax is gone, these vessels remain—meant to find a permanent, useful place in your home.
